A Commis is an entry-level position in a professional kitchen. They assist more senior chefs in food preparation tasks and gain hands-on experience in a variety of culinary techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Maintaining the kitchen and surrounding areas in conditions that meet the company standards and health code regulations.
  • Maintain a clean cooking station and sterilize equipment
  • Always provide a courteous and professional service and ensure that any guest complaints are promptly rectified and communicated to the head chef.
  • Assist the head chef in the fulfillment of his or her duties to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.
  • Always maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene.
  • Maintain good working relationship with your own colleagues and all other departments.
  • Maintain a clean cooking station and sterilize equipment
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar position.
  • In-depth knowledge of food principles and best practices
  • Passion for creating incredible food that delights and attracts customers.
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities.
